Spore Creature Creator Released
Spore Creature Creator has been released…and wow, it is incredible. The Spore team have managed to make something extremely complex, and intelligent, so easy to use. And fun!
The Creature Creator is exactly what you think it is. You create creatures for Spore. I think this is a clever idea from EA for 3 reasons: 1. Content is being created to fill the Spore Universe long before the actual game comes out. 2. It creates even more hype for the game. 3. Everyone who has been waiting for years alreasy for Spore is not going to hesitate to spend £5 ($10) on this product.
Unfortunately I have some criticism, small, but worth a mention. When Spore was first brought to my attention, I did the research. What I found out got me really excited for this game. One of those things was the fact that you start off as a single celled organism fighting for survival in a drop of water. From this you evolve and evolve and evolve, until you become a creature (such as the ones you create with the Spore Creature Creator.). The way I understood it was that the way you treated your creature when it is still evolving dictates what it will look like once a proper creature. The Creator now is allowing you to create these creatures exactly how you want them! What is the point of the earlier “levels” of Spore where you are evolving?
Let me stop being pedantic. I am sure I will completely fall in love with this game once it is released. But for now, go download the Creature Creator and create your own little animated creature. Below is one I created earlier…
