Free Games – Gametap Revisited
I wrote an article in early 2008 about GameTap.com to let people know about this free game platform. I didn't realise how popular this article was going to be, it gets large percentage of the hits on my site. I decided it was time to do a follow up article.
Firstly, the paid for service from GameTap does not seem like a good deal to me at all. It is $50 for a years access to all their titles. If this included games from the past 2 years, then I would say this wasn't a bad deal...but this is not the case. Some of the titles available to the premium subscriber are:
- Civilization IV
- Puzzle Quest
- Fallout 2
- Supreme Commander
- Farcry (Great game, but old)
- Race Driver: GRID (This game is actually pretty recent, and brilliant!)
If these games get you excited, then maybe the $50 is cheap to be able to play all tese titles (there are a load more too!)

But, if free games are your thing, then check out the list below. As with my previous article, I won't list ALL the games available on GameTap, so you can have a surprise when you see some of your old favourites. Some of the new games that I have noticed are:
- Soul Reaver 2
- Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers (This game contributed much to my wasted youth!)
- Final Fight
- Karate Champ
- King of Fighters 96
- Joust, Burger Time, Defender (Great NES games)

Mercenary 2 – Oh No You Didn’t Song
By now I am sure you have seen the brilliant new advert for Mercenary 2 (EA Games), featuring stylised gameplay and that incredibly catchy song "Oh No You Didn't". If you haven't, here it is below.

Spore Creature Creator Released
Spore Creature Creator has been released...and wow, it is incredible. The Spore team have managed to make something extremely complex, and intelligent, so easy to use. And fun!
The Creature Creator is exactly what you think it is. You create creatures for Spore. I think this is a clever idea from EA for 3 reasons: 1. Content is being created to fill the Spore Universe long before the actual game comes out. 2. It creates even more hype for the game. 3. Everyone who has been waiting for years alreasy for Spore is not going to hesitate to spend £5 ($10) on this product.

Spore will be the next BIG thing. It will be HUGE. Everyone will be talking about this game. From September 2008, the gaming world will change.
The rumours about Spore started around 2003/2004. The enthusiasts in us have been watching and waiting patiently for a long time. Since then there have been loads of delays, but finally a release date has been anounced : September 2008! This is brilliant news, I have already pre-ordered my copy (you can pre-order yours too buy clicking on the link...)
So, what is Spore? Let me break it down for you. It is life. Sort of. You start out as a "Spore", a single celled entity swimming around in a drop of water. You end up creating an entire race! There is lots in between, but I will do a full article about this soon, detailing the ins and outs of this game. Trust me, it is EPIC!
