Scam artist on Facebook – Part 1
So, I got a message from someone in my Facebook inbox the other day, someone I don't know and who isn't in my Friends list. This was the message:
Evette:
Hello
t's nice to come across your profile, I was bored so I decided to read through some profiles to get myself busy. I think I like what im reading from your profile so far and i would love to know more about you. I hope to hear from you soon
It looked like an obvious spam/scam type script. I was a bit bored, so I responded:
Me:
Hi Evette. Where are you from?
The reply I got to this was what made it pretty damn obvious that this was just your typical Nigerian scam in a different guise:
